This time we want to help residents of village Pahljevici in Zvornik County in their effort to build paved road as one of the first preconditions for their return and existence in their homes.
The undergoing action is under slogan:
“1 day / 1 euro”
Basic information about village:
The village is located 20 KM Southeast from Zvornik
3 KM is away from highway Zvornik – Drinjaca - Konjevic Polje - Sarajevo
Present day, population in Pahljevici is around 60 people (before the war was over 400)
During the war, more then 65 people were killed
Right now, there are eight kids attending school 3 KM away from village
Living conditions in village present day:
Primarily occupation is agriculture (growing wheat, corn, fruit, vegetable and cattle)
Village is connected to highway by old, destroyed, neglected, unpaved road
Village has no electricity or running water
Because of the bad road, everybody suffer, especially elderly who often can not get needed medical help and treatment.
Practically cut off from the rest of the world and left on their own, residents are living in very hard conditions
Basic information about humanitarian action:
Estimated cost for building the road is 40,000 euros. Detailed estimate is available and possible to get from initiators of this action. Half of the needed money would be paid by residents from donation’s fund; other half would be responsibility of Zvornik County.
The action is named by symbolic name – “1 day/1 euro”. This means Monthly donation of 30 euros. Of course, everybody who wants can help donating money according to her/his own will or financial potentiality. Potential donations could be made directly on the account or contacting below named persons.
